Dr. Fred Kahn is a graduate of the University of Toronto. Subsequent to graduation he obtained his fellowship in The Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and The Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. For 18 years prior to initiating research in the field of Low Intensity Laser Therapy, he conducted an extremely busy surgical practice in Southern California and for 8 years, served as Chief of Staff at a major hospital in Santa Ana, California.
Dr. Kahn initiated his research work in the field of Low Intensity Laser Therapy in 1989 and founded Meditech International Inc. in 1990. Meditech from its initiation has been focused on the research and development of Low Intensity Laser Therapy Systems and the application thereof.
Dr. Kahn has written numerous articles on this subject and the Bioflex System that he has now developed is considered to be the most advanced globally in this rapidly expanding area of technology.
He continues to conduct intensive research from the technological perspective and with regard to new clinical applications.
Oliver has had a fascination with the field of body health since the age of 19. While pursuing a career in professional breakdancing he sustained an injury to both his knees. Through the help of Massage Therapy he was able to make a full recovery and his intrigue began! Beginning his career in the health industry by teaching Yoga for the last 5 years, Oliver brings a unique perspective on body alignment and soft tissue health. While studying at Kikkawa College he set a strong foundation in Suikodo Neuromuscular Meridian Technique as taught by the founder of both the school and technique Mitsuki Kikkawa. In the future Oliver intends to study Active Release Technique and further his knowledge of Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage techniques.
Angeline Poyner graduated from Sutherland-Chan Massage Therapy School in 2007. During her time at Sutherland-Chan she specialized in high risk pregnancies at Women's College, cancer patients receiving radiation treatment at Princess Margaret Lodge and spinal cord injuries at Lyndhurst. Angeline has done her level 1 in Thai massage. She has taken extra courses in sports therapy for taping and stretching.
Juan Echevarria graduated from Kikkawa College in Toronto, Ontario. Juan is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and a member of the Registered Massage Therapist Association of Ontario. Juan integrates elements of Deep Tissue release with Craniosacral therapy trying to obtain an effective lasting relief of the soft tissue area affected.
Slava Kim is a graduate of Karaganda State Medical Academy in Kazakhstan. He carried out post graduate training in surgery and in 1998 completed his residency. Slava has published over 15 articles on a variety of topics including surgery, traumatology and biochemistry. Previously he has presented at a variety of medical-surgical conferences throughout Asia and Europe before moving to Canada in 2000. Shortly after arriving in Canada Slava joined Meditech International and is currently the Clinic Director of Meditech Laser Rehabilitation Centre. He participates in our Laser Certification Course and lectures at meetings throughout the world.
January Lumagbas has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BSPT) degree from Liceo de Cagayan University, Philippines. January joined the Meditech Rehabilitation team in 2007. Over the past 4 years at Meditech, January has developed the skills and expertise necessary to become one of the top laser therapists at Meditech.
