Are Meditech Rehabilitation Massage Therapists Registered?
Yes, all of our Massage Therapists are registered (RMT). A registration number is included on the receipt that may be submitted to the patient’s insurance company.

Do I have to be in pain to have Massage Therapy?
No, Massage Therapy can be used for relaxation and stress relief.

Do I have to get undressed for Massage Therapy?
Yes, but it is not necessary to remove all articles of clothing. Patients may keep clothing on areas that are not being worked on. The patient is covered by a sheet and blanket.

How often should I get treated?
Treatment frequency varies with the extent of the injury, however, most medical conditions are treated on a weekly basis. Massage Therapy for stress and relaxation is recommended at least once a month to maintain general well-being.

If I am pregnant, can I still have Massage Therapy?
Yes. With pregnancies, some women suffer from lower back pain, neck pain and other muscular conditions. Massage Therapy can help relax the muscles that support the spine. Please talk to your Meditech Rehabilitation Centre Registered Massage Therapist for more information.

Do Insurance plans cover Massage Therapy?
Yes. The majority of employees have partial or full coverage for registered Massage Therapy services in their workplace health care plans. OHIP does not cover these services. The massage patient is provided with a detailed itemized receipt listing the services provided, the credentials of the Massage Therapist, as well as payment details for reimbursement.

Do I need a Doctor's prescription for Massage Therapy?
Some insurance companies may require a note from a physician and/or chiropractor explaining why massage has been recommended. It is recommended that patients check with their insurance, and if needed they can make a medical walk-in appointment at a Meditech Rehabilitation Centre for a physician’s assessment and referral, usually on the same day.
